Callery Pear Seeds
Callery Pear Seeds
Pack contains: 30+ seeds
Callery Pear (Pyrus calleryana) is an Asian tree with white early spring flowers, glossy green foliage, and small fruit. Its dense wood has been used for woodwind instruments and printing blocks.
Different ornamental cultivars can cross pollinate and produce fertile seed. Birds disperse the fruit, and the species can form invasive thickets that displace native plants. It should not be planted where Callery Pear is restricted or invasive.

How to stratify seed
In the fridge. Put the seed in a bag with a damp medium such as peat moss, vermiculite, sand or coco coir. The medium is only there to hold moisture. Keep the bag in the fridge, above freezing, for the cold period shown, then sow.
Or outside. Sow the seed outdoors in the fall and let winter do the cold period.
