Seedy Sunday, Brandon MB at the Ukranian Reading Hall

Description: We'll have a table at Brandon's Seedy Sunday this year at the Ukrainian Reading Hall and organized by the Assiniboine Food Forest. All of our seeds will be available, along with apple, pear and plum scion wood. We'll even have a stockpile of tubers like jerusalem artichokes!

Description: We'll be a vendor at the Seedy Saturday in Regina. We'll have all of our seeds, tubers and scion wood available at our booth! "Regina Seedy Saturday is an annual event that brings together gardeners, farmers, business owners and eco-conscious individuals to buy, sell, or exchange seeds; and celebrate the joy of gardening. The 2024 edition promises to be bigger and better, offering a unique platform for vendors to connect with a passionate community of garden enthusiasts."
Tree and Woody Perennial Propagation Talk for Westman Gardeners

Description: We're doing a presention for our local garden club discussing some of the tree and perennial propagation at the nursery, discussing methods and talking with a slideshow of photos. Softwood, hardwood propagation as well as grafting.
Manitoba Homesteading Show

Description: We're excited to be a vendor at the MB Homesteading Show in Lockport, MB just north of Winnipeg. We will have plants, seeds and scion wood available! The event is all about "homesteaders, gardeners and dreamers ... a celebration of self-sufficiency, sustainable living, and the timeless skills that bring us closer to the land"
Grafting Workshop, Brandon MB at the Assiniboine Food Forest
When: May 4, 2025, 10:00 AM - 14:00
Location: 1735 Rosser Ave East, Brandon MB
Description: A grafting workshop planned for the morning at the Assiniboine Food Forest. Email doug@oaksummitnursery.ca if you would like to attend, limited spots. $40.00 donation to AFFI for the workshop includes your grafted tree and scion of your choice, or bring your own scion wood from an apple you like - collect a cutting of year old growth in March or April and store in a poly bag in the fridge. Attendees will get to graft their own apple tree and take it home.
