Sugar Maple (Acer saccharum) is a long lived tree native to eastern North America and the primary source of maple syrup. Sap collected in spring is boiled to make syrup and maple sugar.

The broad rounded crown carries five lobed leaves that turn orange, red, and yellow in fall. Young trees tolerate shade, while mature trees grow best with more sun.
