Our Saskatoon seeds (Amelanchier alnifolia) are collected locally from the forest around Oak Summit nursery. They're prolific here growing along side the native Choke cherry, Hazel and Pin Cherry trees. These native cold hardy trees have the most delicious purple berries. Fully hardy to zone 3.

Saskatoon, Serviceberry, Shadbush, and Juneberry (They ripen here at the end of June) is a small tree or bush, usually not more than 20' tall and a few inches in caliper.   They grow well in part shade, but will bear more fruit in full sun.  On good years the trees are here can be so full of berries the branches hang with large purple clusters.  The fruit is similar to a blueberry.  They're excellent to eat fresh, and also make great pies, wine, jam, etc.  These seeds were collected in summer of 2021.
