Thornless Seabuckthorn (Hippophae sp.) - Zone 3 - 30+ Seeds

Seeds collected locally from trees that were almost completely thornless, making fruit harvest much easier than the usual shelterbelt type (which are often trimmed to collect fruit). These trees produced large, abundant fruit, and the seedlings will be a 50/50 mix of male and female trees with very similar characteristics. You need some male plants for pollination, so seedlings are beneficial. Sea buckthorn is a healthy fruit that's popular for juice and preserves. It's a cold hardy nitrogen fixer that improves the soil and supports biodiversity. The dense growth provides habitat and food for birds and other wildlife.
