Sea Buckthorn Sinensis Seedlings were grown from fruit on a grafted Hippophae sinensis female pollinated by long established PFRA shelterbelt males of H. rhamnoides. The seedlings combine prairie hardiness and vigour with the larger fruit and tree form associated with H. sinensis.
Expect variation because these seedlings are open pollinated. Approximately half will be male and half female. Female seedlings may produce bright orange berries, often larger than those of typical shelterbelt plants.
