Seedlings grown from the fruit of grafted Hippophae sinensis female pollinated by long established PFRA shelterbelt males (H. rhamnoides). Plants are cold hardy shrubs that will reach 10 to 15 feet tall and are adapted to prairie soils and climate.
Sinensis berries are bright orange, often larger than typical shelterbelt types, and the grow into larger trees. These seedlings combine the vigor and toughness of prairie H. rhamnoides stock with the larger and distinctive traits of H. sinensis. Expect some variation among plants as they are open pollinated. Seedlings will be a 50/50 mixture of male and female plants.
