Altaiskaya Sea Buckthorn (Hippophae rhamnoides ‘Altaiskaya’)

Altaiskaya Sea Buckthorn is a Russian selection grown for its large orange berries and heavy yield. Grows to a mature height of 10-15 feet, forming a dense, upright shrub. Female plants produce clusters of  bright orange berries packed with vitamins and antioxidants. They fruit have a tart citrus flavour and excellent for juicing, jams, and sauces.

Note the breeding emphasis in Russian cultivars like Altaiskaya was on large fruit and heavy yields, this variety has a moderate thorns.
