Sandow is a Northern Spy seedling with large, scarlet striped apples and crisp, firm flesh. Whiffletree describes a sweet flavour with a raspberry note, suitable for both fresh eating and cooking.
It is a late apple: Whiffletree gives a mid October harvest in Ontario. It needs another compatible apple flowering at the same time.
Our fall trees are grafted on Siberian crabapple rootstock.
