The Norkent apple is a medium-sized yellow apple, striped or streaked with red, and sometimes very large, measuring up to 3 1/2 inches in diameter. Its flavor resembles an apple-pear and is sometimes compared to the Golden Delicious variety: sweet, almost caramelized, with little to no acidity. The skin is moderately thick, light green, streaked and washed with several shades of red. It matures in early to mid-September and is best for eating but also good for cooking. The Norkent apple is known for its aromatic, crisp, juicy, greenish-white flesh with hints of pear. It is hardy, grows well in cold climates, and stores well.

Norkent apples are excellent fresh eating. Apple-pear taste similar to Golden Delicious.  Yellow orange with red streaks. Ripens late August - mid September.  Stores well up to 14 weeks.

Haralson x Rescue.   A seedling from the the Morden Research Station in Manitoba from the 1960s, through Agriculture Canada's Prairie Fruit Breeding Cooperative initiative. Selected By the University of Alberta, introduced by the Beaverlodge Research Station in 1990.
