Red Birch Seeds (Betula occidentalis) - 500+ Seeds

Red Birch (Betula occidentalis) seed is collected from native stands in the forest around our nursery in Manitoba. The trees are fully hardy to Zone 3 and naturally develop a clumping form with several trunks, although they can also be trained to a single trunk.

Mature trees have deep reddish brown bark that peels in thin layers, small leaves, and spring catkins. Birch seed can germinate at low percentages, so each packet includes plenty of seed to improve the chance of producing seedlings.
