Eastern Red Cedar (Juniperus virginiana) is a dense, slow growing evergreen conifer native to Canada and the United States. Mature trees commonly reach 15-60 feet and can be very long lived.

The aromatic reddish heartwood is valued for its scent, while the dense evergreen growth provides year round structure and wildlife cover. Seedlings are suited to naturalized plantings, windbreaks, and sunny, well drained sites.
