Convoy is a Canadian cherry plum released by Boughen Nurseries in Manitoba in 1941. It combines western sand cherry hardiness with Japanese plum fruit quality and has an upright, rounded habit.
Red skinned fruit with yellow flesh ripens in mid summer. Convoy is sweeter, juicier, and less tart than many cherry plum hybrids, making it useful for fresh eating as well as preserves, baking, and canning.
