Aurora Haskap is a popular variety of honeyberry (haskap), bred for its exceptional fruit quality and upright form. Developed at the University of Saskatchewan, this cultivar is known for its large, elongated berries with a sweet tart flavor that has been compared to a mix of blueberry, raspberry, and black currant. The berries are excellent for fresh eating, as well as for use in jams, jellies, baking, and smoothies.
Aurora is a vigorous shrub, reaching about 4-6 feet in height and width, with an upright growth habit. The fruit begins to ripen in early summer, generally a week or two later than other varieties like ‘Tundra’ or ‘Borealis'.
Cold Hardiness Zone: 2
Mature Size: 4-6 ft tall and wide.
