Vekovaya produces green pears that become greenish yellow with a red to purple blush. The white flesh is firm, fine grained and sweet with some acidity. It can be eaten fresh, juiced, dried or made into compote.

Russian records place harvest around late August to early September and report storage for up to about six weeks. Another compatible pear is needed for pollination; Larinskaya is one specifically recommended pollen donor and is offered in this release.

Our fall trees are grafted on Ussurian pear rootstock.

Cold Hardiness Zone: 3

Botanical name: Pyrus

Rootstock: Ussurian

Pollination: Requires another compatible pear; Larinskaya is a published partner.
