Krasnobokaya is a South Ural pear bred from Nezhnost and Zheltoplodnaya. Green fruit turns greenish yellow with a crimson to rosy blush as it ripens. The flesh is very juicy, with a sweet, buttery eating quality.
Harvest is generally listed for mid to late September. Russian records report one to three months of storage depending on the season, while Canadian nursery guidance is closer to one or two months in suitable cold storage. Another compatible pear is needed for pollination.
Our fall tree is grafted on Ussurian pear rootstock.
Cold Hardiness Zone: 3
Botanical name: Pyrus
Rootstock: Ussurian
Pollination: Requires another compatible pear with overlapping bloom.
