Seedlings grown from Valiant grapes. The vines will be similar to the parent cultivar Valiant with some genetic variation. Grapes are self fertile so there's a good chance of seedlings producing a comparable grape.
Valiant is one of the most cold hardy grape cultivars, it can be easy handle -40C. It has dark blue medium sized grapes with seeds, and they ripen early. Excellent for grape juice or wine. Developed at South Dakota State University, 'Valiant' is a cross between the native Vitis riparia and the more common Vitis labrusca, combining excellent cold hardiness with good fruit quality.
Can reach 15-20 feet, best grown in full sun. Moderately resistant to common grape diseases, such as powdery mildew and downy mildew.
Cold Hardiness Zone: 2/3
