Sprout’s Sunshine is an Alberta plum selected from an open pollinated seedling at Sprout Farms in Bon Accord. Its yellow green fruit has firm yellow flesh with a sweet tart flavour, and the stone is partly free from the flesh. Published fruit size is about 1.2 to 1.6 inches.

The firm fruit is useful for baking as well as fresh eating and is generally listed for late August harvest. It is not self fertile; an American or Canada plum flowering at the same time is recommended for pollination.

Our fall trees are grafted on Mustang rootstock.

Cold Hardiness Zone: 2

Botanical name: Prunus
