Brookred was developed at the Crop Diversification Centre in Brooks, Alberta. This hardy Japanese and American plum hybrid produces medium sized, dark red fruit about 1.6 inches across, with firm, juicy golden flesh and a sweet flavour. Fruit ripens around mid August.
