The Brookred plum, developed by the South Crop Diversification Centre in Brooks, Alberta, is a hardy hybrid between Japanese (Prunus salicina) and American plums. It produces medium-sized, dark red fruit with firm, juicy, golden flesh and a sweet flavor.
