Sloe or Blackthorn

Sloe, also called blackthorn, is a dense, thorny shrub with white flowers that open before the leaves in early spring. Its small blue black fruit has a waxy bloom. The shrub spreads by suckers and can form a substantial thicket about 8 to 13 feet tall.

Fruit Colour: blue black with a waxy bloom

Site: Full sun; moist but well drained soil.
