Nova Easygro Apple Tree

Nova Easygro was developed at the AAFC Kentville Research and Development Station in Nova Scotia and introduced in 1971. This Canadian apple variety is a cross between the Spartan and PRI 565 varieties. The apples are large, oblate, with 80% red stripe over a greenish-yellow ground. They have snow-white flesh, firm, crisp, mildly sweet, and slightly juicy. Slightly tough at picking, they mellow in storage. Recommended for cooking, salads, and eating fresh, the skin is yellow-green complemented by a dull red blush over most of its surface, fine and thin in texture. Nova Easygro is suitable for low-maintenance backyard trees or organic orchards.
