The Collet apple tree produces apples that are 6 to 8 cm (2-3 inches) in size, renowned for their early production, disease resistance, and sweet and tart flavor. The Collet apple shares similarities with the popular McIntosh apple and is great for fresh eating, baking excellent pies, and has a firm, crunchy, and very juicy texture. The skin is green with a strong bright red blush, green with red streaking. This apple variety is known for getting sweeter after a frost.
Collet apple is a medium sized 2-3" apple that's similar to McIntosh. Described as juicy, sweet and tart flavour. Good for fresh eating. Ripens mid to late September, stores well. Good disease resistance.
A Manitoba introduced by Albert Collet in 1934.
