Mugo Pine (Pinus mugo) is an evergreen native to the mountains of central and southern Europe. Its natural forms range from low spreading shrubs to small trees, with dense dark green needles held in pairs.
This slow growing, long lived pine tolerates wind, cold, and poor soil. It is often used on exposed sites, in rock gardens, and in low shelter plantings.
