Laxton's Giant is an old black currant cultivar introduced in England in 1946. It produces very large, juicy berries that are often grown for exhibition because of their size. The thin skinned berries are borne in long clusters, making them easy to harvest. Their mild, sweet flavour suits fresh eating, juice, and baking.
