The Kuban Comet plum (Prunus × rossica 'Kubanskaya Kometa'), also known as 'Kubanskaya Kometa', is a hybrid cultivar developed in the late 1970s by Russian breeders at the Krymsk Experimental Breeding Station. This variety is a cross between the Chinese plum (Prunus salicina) and the 'Pionerka' plum. Medium to large, teardrop-shaped plums with bright yellow, sweet, and juicy flesh. The skin transitions from yellow-orange to red upon full ripeness in late July. The tart skin resists cracking, and the fruit is clingstone.
