Indigo Gem is a University of Saskatchewan haskap selected for early ripening and strong yields. The low, spreading shrub produces medium sized oval berries with a sweet and tart flavour.
It flowers early over a relatively long period, but still needs another compatible cultivar for cross pollination. Aurora, Berry Blue and Polar Jewel provide choices to consider alongside it.

Haskaps fruit best in full sun. They prefer well-drained loam or sandy loam, while drained clay can also work. Keep newly planted shrubs evenly moist during establishment without leaving the roots waterlogged.
