Honeycrisp was developed in Minnesota and is known for an unusually crisp texture, abundant juice, and a balanced sweet tart flavour. The medium to large apples have mottled red and yellow skin and cream coloured flesh.
The fruit ripens from late September into early October and can remain crisp for months in suitable cold storage. It is used fresh, in baking, and for cider.
