Common Comfrey (Symphytum officinale) is a hardy European perennial with large hairy leaves and clusters of purple, blue, or white bell shaped flowers. It forms dense crowns above deep persistent roots.

These root cuttings come from seed grown nursery plants that can produce viable seed. They grow much like familiar sterile comfrey cultivars but may spread by seed as well as by their roots. Comfrey is used for mulch, compost, and pollinator forage.
