Rootstock

Carroll is an early dessert apple with sweet, aromatic white flesh and a trace of tartness. The fruit is about 2¾–3 inches across, with a pale background and pink to red blush. It was introduced at Morden, Manitoba, in 1961.

Prairie Hardy reports ripening in late August in Alberta and storage for up to two months. Plant in full sun with well drained soil and another compatible apple or flowering crabapple nearby. Mature tree size and time to first fruit depend on rootstock.

Our fall trees are grafted on Siberian crabapple rootstock.
