Set a reminderBen Nevis is a mid to late season black currant bred by the Scottish Crop Research Institute. It produces a heavy crop of large, flavourful black berries from mid to late July and is known for resistance to mildew.
The vigorous, tall shrub reaches about 4-5 ft, making it taller than compact cultivars such as 'Ben Sarek'. Ben Nevis is self fertile and does not require another black currant for fruit, and it grows in full sun or partial shade.
