Alderman is a large fruited hybrid plum with burgundy skin and golden, sweet, juicy flesh. The University of Minnesota introduced it in 1986 and reports ripening around mid August in Minnesota.
It needs a compatible pollinizer. Minnesota Extension lists Superior, Toka, American plum and Canada plum as options. Plant in full sun and well drained soil; tree size on this lot’s American plum rootstock has not been verified.
Our fall plants are grown on American plum rootstock.
