The Alberta Red apple is a large, glossy red fruit renowned for its crisp texture and excellent flavour, making it perfect for fresh consumption. Notably, the flesh exhibits a slight pink hue, contributing to its juiciness and the production of pink-tinged juice. This cultivar was salvaged from obscurity by Dr. Evans and traces its roots to the 1960 University of Alberta breeding program.
