collecting nanking cherries with a drop sheet, for some fruits you can shake the branches, for nanking the fruit hold onto the branches but they're easily knocked off by running your hands along them, and if you can position any sort of sheet under the canopy it makes quick work out of picking, the sheet is easy to move and the collect all of the fruit into pails, cartons or large ziplock bags. easiest done if the grass is cut short, and your bush has some sprawling growth to hang over the sheet. in fact given how well this worked, I reccomend growing nanking as a spreading bush, multiple stems but otherwise only pruned if needed to fit the space.
