Titania is a vigorous and highly productive black currant cultivar known for its excellent resistance to diseases like white pine blister rust and powdery mildew. Developed in the 1980s, it was bred by the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences. It's a cross between the cultivars 'Consort', 'Kajaanin Musta', and 'Altai Dessert'

It's notable for producing large, firm black berries with a mildly sweet flavor. The fruit is excellent for fresh consumption, as well as for making juices, jams, and preserves. It ripens in mid-season, usually around July, and all berries tend to ripen simultaneously, which is convenient for harvesting. This variety is partially self-fertile but will produce a better yield if planted near another blackcurrant variety for cross-pollination.

With its strong growth, large berries, and high disease resistance, 'Titania' is one of the most popular black currant varieties for both home gardeners and commercial growers in North America and Europe.
