Also commonly known as Wild Chamomile, though it is a different species from true chamomile, Flowers and leaves are edible and traditionally used fresh or dried for herbal tea.
Low growing annual native to northeast Asia that has become naturalized across North America. Plants form small bushy mounds 4 to 12 inches tall with finely divided leaves. The flower heads are cone shaped, yellow green, and lack petals. When crushed, the foliage and flowers release a strong pineapple like scent. Often found in compacted soils, roadsides, and disturbed sites. Very tolerant of poor soils and drought and reseeds readily.
Hardiness: Zone 3 (self seeding annual)
