Viking Chokeberry is a Scandinavian cultivar selected for abundant crops of large glossy black fruit. The tart berries ripen from late summer into early fall and are used for juice, jam, wine, and other preserves.
The dense upright shrub has glossy green leaves that turn red and orange in fall. It tolerates a broad range of soil conditions, including wet or poor soil.
