Siberian Fir (Abies sibirica) is an evergreen of the Siberian taiga, with a range extending through Central and northern Asia. It grows in cold boreal forests and can withstand temperatures near −50°C.
The tree has a conical crown, smooth grey brown bark with resin blisters, and soft aromatic needles held upward along the shoots. Cylindrical cones mature from bluish to dark brown in mid autumn and release small winged seeds as they break apart.
