Lemon Drop, also called Ají Limón, is a Peruvian Capsicum baccatum pepper with bright yellow pods, citrus aroma, and clean hot heat. It is excellent for hot sauce, salsa, fish, chicken, and fruit-based sauces where lemony heat is useful. This seed lot lists 15,000-30,000 SHU; other sources often list it higher, so heat is best described as moderately hot and strain-variable. Expect roughly 80-100 days to ripe yellow fruit.
Origin and history
Peruvian ají commonly called Ají Limón/Lemon Drop; note naming confusion with Ají Limo.
