Jimmy Nardello is a celebrated Italian sweet frying pepper with long thin red pods and rich fruity sweetness. The Nardello family brought the pepper from southern Italy to Connecticut in the late 1800s, and Jimmy Nardello later shared seed with Seed Savers Exchange. It has no heat and is excellent fried, roasted, grilled, or eaten fresh. Expect about 80-90 days to red ripe fruit.
Origin and history
Brought from Basilicata, Italy to Connecticut by Angela Nardello in 1887; preserved by the Nardello family and Seed Savers Exchange; listed in Slow Food Ark of Taste.
