Clove Currant is a North American Ribes species with fragrant yellow spring flowers followed by late summer berries that ripen from yellow to black. The fruit ranges from tart to sweet tart depending on ripeness and cultivar.
The upright canes tolerate drought and alkaline soils. Plants are used for shelter, wildlife, and fruit.
