Comfrey (Symphytum uplandicum)
Comfrey grown from root cuttings. Our stock plants are were seed grown.
Comfrey is a vigorous perennial grown for biomass, mulch, or pollinator forage, producing deep taproots that mine nutrients and broad leaves for chop and drop mulching. Plants spread in dense crowns, making them useful as living compost around fruit trees or as a barrier planting. Plant in full sun to partial shade with moisture retentive, once established it tolerates repeated cutbacks and brief dry spells. Harvest leaves through the season and divide clumps in fall to expand mulch patches or feed compost systems.
Hardiness: Zone 3
