Cold hardy peach species often used in breeding and as a rootstock. Grows as a small tree with narrow serrated leaves and early pink blossoms in spring. The fruit is small for a peach and often cooked with or used in preserves. Adapted to very cold climates where common peach varieties cannot survive. They can grow in zone 3 but may need a sheltered location.
