An old English red currant cultivar bred by Laxton Brothers in the early 1900s. Plants are medium sized bushes with good vigour and productivity. Produces long trusses of bright red berries in mid summer. Fruit has a sharp tart flavour that is excellent for jelly, preserves, and baking. A reliable cropper that has been grown in Europe for generations and remains valued in heritage collections and home gardens.
