wild american black currant, Ribes americanum. I collect seed every year from a stand with delicious fruit, it ripens in late summer unevenly so you get hits attractive fruit set ranging from yellow to red to black. the bushes are upright, easy to grow and they've native here in MB. these were cold stratified starting in feb, planted in April. three months old in these photos. seedling Ribes grow fast, usually outpacing the ones I start from cuttings.
