Red Lake Currant is a popular American cultivar known for its large, bright red berries and heavy yields. The berries grow in long clusters and have a tangy, slightly sweet flavor, making them ideal for jams, jellies, sauces, and fresh eating. Developed in Minnesota, Red Lake is especially valued for its cold hardiness, thriving in northern climates and easily withstanding Zone 3 winters. Compared to other red currants, Red Lake is noted for its vigorous growth and early fruiting, often producing berries within two to three years of planting.

Cold Hardiness Zone: 3-7
Mature Size: 3-5 ft tall, 3-4 ft wide
