Rebel Starfighter Prime tomato is a compact striped salad type recognized by its red ground color broken by narrow yellow streaks and a firm, juicy interior. Bred by Mark Kasimor as part of his Rebel Starfighter line, this selection was developed from crosses involving vigorous red salad types and stable striped stock, with the “Prime” designation marking a more uniform, earlier maturing strain. Fruit typically measure about two inches across with a round to slightly oblate form, offering a neater shape than the more variable Starfighter siblings. The striping remains distinct at full color, giving a clear indication of ripeness as the red deepens. Plants are determinate to semi determinate depending on seed source, with a concentrated early to midseason set that suits smaller gardens or short season growers. Compared with other striped salad tomatoes, Rebel Starfighter Prime holds its texture well and shows good uniformity across the harvest.
