Pin Cherry (Prunus pensylvanica) is a small, fast growing tree native across much of North America. It is commonly found along forest edges, in open woodland, and on disturbed sites.
The tree bears small bright red tart cherries and has smooth reddish brown bark. Around Oak Summit, fruit from this Manitoba sourced stock ripens from mid to late July.
