Size

Ohio buckeye is a rounded shade tree with large, palmately divided leaves, low branches and dense foliage. Its spring flowers are yellow to greenish yellow, and autumn colour varies among seedlings.

It can suffer leaf scorch during drought, and its developing taproot makes later transplanting difficult. This is an ornamental tree: the seeds are poisonous and are not edible chestnuts.
