Bur Oak (Quercus macrocarpa) seedlings were grown from locally collected acorns. This member of the white oak group can live for more than 300 years. Its large acorns have a distinctive fringed cap that covers much of the nut.
As a long lived native tree, Bur Oak provides food and habitat for birds, squirrels, insects, and other wildlife. Its scale suits parks, farms, and large landscapes.
