Frontenac Grape Seeds

Frontenac Grape seed was collected under open pollination from the cold hardy wine cultivar developed at the University of Minnesota. Seedlings will vary because other grape varieties grew nearby, but they retain the hardy Vitis riparia background.

The named Frontenac cultivar produces heavy clusters of small dark blue grapes with high sugar. The fruit is used for red wine, juice, and jelly, and the vigorous vines have good disease resistance and reliable production in northern climates.
