Sandbar Willow is a native North American shrub or small tree, commonly found across various regions in Canada. It's smaller than most other willows, mature stands will max out around 12 ft.
Ideal conditions include moist to wet soils, often found along riverbanks, in wetlands, and on sandbars, as its common name suggests. It thrives in full sun, requiring significant daily exposure for optimal growth. Sandbar Willow is particularly well suited for riparian environments where it plays a vital role in soil stabilization and ecosystem health.
