Sandbar Willow (Salix exigua)

Sandbar Willow is a native North American shrub or small tree found along riverbanks, wetlands, and sandbars. Smaller than most willows, it forms spreading stands that generally reach about 12 feet. It grows best in moist to wet soil and is useful for stabilizing streambanks, naturalizing wet areas, and supporting wildlife.
